First Day - A Success

So far, so good. The only tears today were Cate's when she found out she didn't get to stay at school.

Alex is waivering between, "Kindergarten is great!" and "I just want to go back to preschool." It's a feeling I've known with every transition I have ever made. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that "Kindergarten is great!" prevails.

What I learned today... he scored somewhere between 16 and 110 goals playing soccer. The soup at school is so delicious. He was the best boy during nap and shaking a fist in the air alerts the teacher you need the bathroom.

He was exhausted.

And now for tomorrow....

Shaking a fist in the air is the actual sign for "potty" in ASL. So his teacher is clever.

Congratulations! Kindergarten is HUGE!

Good first day here too! Kindergarten Rocks! I like the unity and belonging provided by the all orange group shirts.

Just wait until the first day of 1st grade. I arrived with Kara, camera in tow, expecting all her friends and their parents to mill around outside the school for a bit. At least enough time for me to take a group shot of the new 1st graders. (I have so many great photos from the beginning of Kindergarten). But no, as we stood there waiting, kids just flew by us. None of them were interested in me taking their picture. All they cared about was seeing their friends and RUNNING into the school. I managed one shot but I think it's blurry. Enjoy Kindergarten - it is a special year.
